Day 77 and sorry for the delay

Hey guys, I’m real sorry for not posting the last few days. Trust me, I really wanted too, but the internet was down. It luckily got fixed today though! So, let me fill you in.

On Saturday, I stayed up until 4 AM, before leaving to go meet up with my parents, and then we drove to the airport. There, we got on a plane, and flew to Dallas FtWorth. I slept most of that entire flight. Then we had a lay over there, where I started reading The Fall of Reach (I promised Tom I would read it over this vacation. It’s a good book, but if you’re not interested or curious in the Halo series, then it might not be your cup of tea). Then on the plane, I read the first half of it, listening to my music the whole way. When we landed, it was about 6 o’clock, and we waited around for about half an hour, watching this poor woman behind the counter argue over the phone with the guy in front of the counter’s mother-in-law over a one dollar difference in the estimate and the actual price. It was pretty brutal. We got our car though, and then we were off. In the car I slept again, which was good, because it’s a good hour and a half from the airport to the house we’re renting. Once we got to the house, I met up with my Uncle and Aunt, my Grandma, and my two cousins, Kris and Aaron. They’ve grown quite a bit since the last time I saw them (which was in January). After we got all the bags inside, we went out for sushi, and it was delicious. I don’t know if it tasted so good because it was good, or if it tasted so good because I haven’t had sushi in almost a year… But, after sushi was over, we went back to the house. I gave Grandma back her pictures, and then I went up to my room, where I found out the internet wasn’t working. That was when I started on my scarf (pictures should be going up on The Cozy Knitten). I stayed up until about two playing the sims and knitting my scarf, and then I fell asleep.

Yesterday, I woke up because Aaron left my door open, and so all of the noises from downstairs wafted up, and I woke up, unable to go back to sleep. The day was fairly normal one though, I woke up, I had breakfast, and then I knitted. I somehow found myself waking up on the couch though, and when I did, I found that my knitting had been moved to my feet, and that there was a new camera sitting next to me. I knew it was Grandma’s, the day before she had asked me to show her how to work it. So, I picked it up, and examined the buttons. The camera was really simple, and I figured out how everything worked without having to put the batteries in it. Grandma came in about that time, and I put in the batteries and showed her how they worked. She then started asking me about settings, and got a little bummed because we couldn’t figure out how to change something. I hope that if she doesn’t want the camera though she’ll just give it to me and get a new one, but I haven’t told her that. At this point, Mom came home, and she asked if I wanted to go to the knitting store with her. I of course said yes. When we got to the knitting store though, it turned out that it was closed on Sundays, so we decided to go back today(Monday). We then went to the rock and mineral store next door, and I got a really cool piece of stone, that I will take a picture of when I get home, because it is currently encased in bubble wrap to keep it safe. We then went to a local book store, where I got a new Stephen King (for when I get to the end of the Dark Tower series, and have to stop until I get some more money to buy the rest of it).The book is called Under the Dome and the book itself is quite enormous. It is (get your ruler out for this one kids) 6x9x2 (base by height by width) and is 1074 pages long. It has a map of the town the book is set in, and a list of characters in the front of the book. It seems like it will be quite intense and I love it. After we got home, I went out and sat on the porch reading Fall of Reach until I got to chapter 26 (only 13 more chapters to go). Then, dinner was ready and we ate. After dinner, we decided to go for a walk on the beach. The boys wanted to swim out to a second island, and so I stayed behind on the first island with my aunt. We saw some people checking out a nearby tidepool earlier, and so we went over to check it out. As I was walking in the sandy tidepool, I kept looking down, to make sure I didn’t step on anyone. I stepped on a sandy portion that looked perfectly clear, when suddenly something slimy moved under my feet and the sand got kicked up. As I stepped back, I looked down and saw a sting ray! After that we headed back to the house. I knitted a bit more, and then came up to bed, played the sims, and went to sleep.

Today, we went out and had a great time at the knitting store. It was only Mom and I, and it was a lot of fun. When we were done shopping though, Grandma called and said she wanted to go to the knitting store with me. So, instead of going grocery shopping with Mom, I waited for Grandma to come. I spent a lot of time talking to the lady there, and she was pretty cool. When Grandma got there, she bought a whole lot of yarn and it was really cool as well. Then we left the shop, and we went to the local mineral store again, and Grandma and I talked about the gaudiness of really large stone rings. We then went to the UPS store (boring) and came home. I then went out again with my mom and dad, and I got a book called "I Love Crabcakes" by Tom Douglas. I've flipped through the book and YUM!. When we got back, I went onto the porch and finished Fall of Reach, and am currently waiting for dinner to be finished, so that I can have delicious lamb!

Anyway, that's about it. Hope to see you tomorrow!
